Gauteng Opera presents
As the third of the Sunday afternoon concert series, Gauteng Opera presents Classical Spectacular. The programme consists of a wide spectrum of classical music, from themost beautiful and emotional opera works to the fun, sing-a-long Neapolitan Songs. CEO,Arnold Cloete together with his creative team Artistic Director, Phenye Modiane and Accompanist, Andrew Duncan created a programme that celebrates the wonderful wide range of classical music many will know, not know and come to love. It is a concert for thewhole family to attend – what a great way to pass a sunny, wintery August Sunday. Music tobe heard include the hauntingly beautiful In Trutina from Orff’s Carmina Burana, Freunde,das Leben ist lebenswert from Lehar’s Guiditta, Soave sia il vento from Mozart’s Cosi fantutte and Neapolitan songs such as Torna a Surriento.

Performing this afternoon will be the talented Gauteng Opera artists, Khayakazi Madlala(soprano), Yolanda Nyembezi (mezzo-soprano), Phenye Modiane (tenor), Lindo Maso(tenor), Kanyiso Kula (tenor), Solly Motaung (baritone) and the ensemble of GautengOpera Academy. Gauteng Opera is also presenting a guest artist to perform with the company. They will be accompanied on piano by Andrew Duncan.
