Gauteng Opera will kick off its 2015 season with a hands-clapping, foot-stamping and heart-warming concert for the whole family, presenting the music that Forté has so often sung at concerts and events during the past two years. Guest appearances will feature Eddie Clayton, a special classical band and a hand-picked choral ensemble. the songs that will be experienced on this evening will range from favourites like “Remember when it rained” made famous by Josh Groban and our own DJ Sbu to classic like African Dream.
Forté was born out of inspiration and camaraderie during a Gauteng Opera (formerly The Black Tie Ensemble & BTE VO1SS) production in 2012. FORTÉ strives to challenge the conventions of art and not confine themselves to the traditional operatic repertoire. Their inspiration encompasses all genres that ignite their passion.
Forté has been a regular feature of Gauteng Opera performances and have performed with the Free State Symphony Orchestra, Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra and Gauteng Opera Orchestra in various concerts. They have also performed with South African singer, Nianell and are involved in Community work with schools and charities.
Recently Forté performed in Gauteng Opera’s ONE VOICE: AN AFRICAN CELEBRATION with great success and have made themselves a household name with their voices and their unique music interpretation. This talented ensemble of singers has a vast repertoire and performs an infinite range of genres in music. Highlights for 2014 include a Mozart opera, Cosi fan Tutte and a vibrant African Celebration Extravaganza, One Voice.
