Gauteng Opera to hold concert in Polokwane, Limpopo
Gauteng Opera spreads the joy of Opera and educates budding classical music artists on the possibilities of making a career in vocal arts and performance theatre.
Funded by the National Lottery Distribution Fund (NLDTF), the tour in Limpopo aims to expose talented young people who have an interest in classical music, to the art-form of Opera and introduce them to Gauteng Opera’s training and development programme. The driving force for Gauteng Opera is to build and sustain good singing and well-rounded artists in South Africa.

Gauteng Opera holds auditions every year around the country for talented singers who are later enrolled in the development programme as Academy Trainees or as the Studio. For three years, academy trainees receive coaching sessions with singing teachers, language lecturers, as well as interaction with acclaimed singers, coaches, directors and conductors. They also have the opportunity to perform as chorus in Gauteng Opera concerts. All singers accepted as GAUTENG OPERA ACADEMY and GAUTENG OPERA STUDIO receive a monthly retainer and have their tuition fully covered by Sponsorships and Grants.
Gauteng Opera brings Opera to Everyone.
